Terramin has built an experienced management team to manage feasibility studies on advanced projects and conduct mining operations in Australia and worldwide. It includes multilingual technical and support staff.
Martin Janes Chief Financial Officer
Mr Janes has over 20 years experience in the finance sector of the resources and banking industries. This includes 14 years at Normandy Mining Limited (now Newmont Australia Limited) where he was responsible for managing the commodity and foreign exchange hedging activities and debt funding requirements. He has extensive experience in many facets of mining finance including project finance, corporate finance, leasing and capital markets issuance. He has a strong understanding of accounting, taxation and legal principals. He more recently held a senior strategic development role at Adelaide Bank Limited. He is an economist and is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Finance and Treasury Association.
Robert Singer Chief Geologist
Mr Singer manages Terramin's resource development and exploration teams. He is a geologist with more than 27 years experience in operating mines and exploration in diverse terrains. He joined Terramin from a position as Chief Geologist for the Newmont-Barrick ("Super Pit") operations at Kalgoorlie, mining 13 million tpa of gold ore. Prior to that he led the team responsible for a major expansion of zinc resources at the 1.2Mtpa Golden Grove mine. His career commenced at the CSA mine at Cobar, NSW and has included 19 years as Chief Geologist or Exploration Manager on a number of copper/lead/zinc, copper/gold, and gold operations. He is a competent person for the JORC Code estimation of base and precious metal resources.
Andrew Robertson General Manager Operations
Mr Robertson, is a mining engineer with over 20 years experience in the base metals and gold mining industry. Following 12 years operational experience in copper and gold projects in WA, NT and New Zealand with North and Normandy Mining, he moved to corporate roles providing technical support to operations and corporate activities such as M&A activity, JV management and Business Planning. His most recent role was General Manager Operations Planning with Newmont Australia which involved responsibility for the Capital Management and Operational Planning processes.
Jean-Pierre Wilhelm Vice-president North Africa
Mr Wilhelm manages operational support and business development for Terramin in North Africa. Mr Wilhelm has degrees in banking, logistics and management and has had a career spanning finance, the military, logistics and metal refineries. Over the past 10 years he managed logistics for a number of projects in Eastern Europe and the former Yugoslavia. He directed the re-commissioning of nickel and ferro-silica smelters in Eastern Europe and Macedonia and in the process developed a strong foundation for liaison with high levels of government. Mr Wilhelm has an MBA and an MSc in corporate management and logistics.
Colin Jackson Corporate Consultant
Mr Jackson graduated as a metallurgist and mineral process design engineer from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, London specialising in zinc-copper smelter schedule optimisation. Following ten years in mine design and operations with Selection Trust Ltd group and RGC Ltd he entered the securities industry and became Partner and Director-Research and Corporate, for McIntosh Securities Ltd (known today as Merrill Lynch Australia).
Mr Jackson's role includes oversight of the technical assesment of Terramin developing projects, particularly the feasibility studies and preparation of supportive documentation for capital raising.
Mark Terry Financial Controller
Mr Terry is a qualified CPA accountant. He has twelve years experience in the Australian mining industry working for Normandy, Newmont and Xstrata.
Kate Bitter Legal Counsel & Company Secretary
Ms. Bitter is a lawyer and was appointed company secretary in May 2007. Previously she was at Finlaysons Lawyers where, among other roles, she assisted with arrangments to setup the Algerian subsidiary Western Mediterranean Zinc Spa.
John Burgess General Manager, Angas Mine
Mr Burgess is a process and environmental engineer with 35 years experience in zinc plants mostly at Broken Hill. He has consulted to Zinifex’s Century Mine and on nickel and gold operations. His roles include manager of Metallurgy and Environment at Broken Hill and General Manager of the Renison Tin Mine. He has extensive experience in commissioning of nickel, copper and gold plants.
Charlotte Hy Principal Geologist- Oued Amizour project
Dr Hy is a structural and metamorphic specialist trained in Paris. She has been consulting in exploration and mining in Australia and overseas for precious and base metals. Projects in exploration have involved large-scale compilations of geophysical data (satellite imagery, airborne geophysics), geological information and extensive fieldwork. Projects for the mining industry have included structural modelling of underground and open pit ore bodies. She is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
Jol Jardine Mine Manager, Angas Zinc
Mr Jardine is a mining engineer with 15 years mining experience at mines including Stawell Gold Mines and Elura Zinc Mine. He has been pivotal in the development and operation of a number of contract and owner operated mines throughout Australia. For the last 5 years he has consulted on the design, scheduling and operation of both small and large mines, including Newmont Bronzewing and Golden Grove sites, Ballarat Goldfields, Newcrest Telfer and Rio Tinto Argyle Diamond Mines.
Ken Cross Principal Geologist - Menninnie Region
Dr. Cross has 30 years experience in the minerals industry, working with prospectors and junior exploration companies prior to joining WMC Resources in 1984 as a mine geologist at Kambalda nickel mine, Western Australia. From 1986-93 he worked at Olympic Dam as Senior Research Geologist and later with WMC Resources Exploration Division as Senior Exploration Geologist (SA/NT), focused on Olympic Dam style Cu-Au exploration. Dr. Cross has a strong background in geoscience computing and technology and has worked intensively in Australia and overseas as a consultant to companies including BHP Billiton, Anglogold, WMC Resources and junior explorers.
Peter Mitchell Manager -Business Development
Mr Mitchell worked for fifteen years as a geologist in Africa, Iran, Australia and the U.K. After several years as resource analyst with Prudential Bache he was appointed manager of corporate services for Lowell Capital. His experience includes financial and technical analysis of projects and companies; assessment of project risk; identifying potential problems and financial issues in developing a business, resource or technology. This includes a wide range of projects and acquisition proposals in Australia and overseas, including projects in Australia and elsewhere including the USA, China and east Asia, Mongolia, Zambia, Egypt, Romania, Iran and Zimbabwe.
