Management Team

Terramin has an experienced management team, supported by multilingual technical and support staff, well equipped to conduct feasibility studies on advanced projects and carry out mining operations in Australia and worldwide. The Company relies upon its strong team of technical and commercial experts with experience of mining projects ranging from 400,000 tpa to 13,000,000 tpa.


Corporate

Martin Janes - Chief Financial Officer

Mr Janes has more than 20 years' experience in the finance sector of the resources and banking industries. He spent 14 years at Normandy Mining Limited (now Newmont Australia Limited) where he was responsible for managing commodity and foreign exchange hedging activities and debt funding requirements. He has extensive experience in many facets of mining finance including project finance, corporate finance, leasing and capital markets issuance. He has a strong understanding of accounting, taxation and legal principals and held a senior strategic development role at Adelaide Bank Limited. He is an economist and a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Finance and Treasury Association.

Ian McAleese - Investor Relations Manager

Mr McAleese has more than 20 years of experience in funds management and business analysis, as a mining analyst and subsequently as a portfolio manager. More recently, he was the Corporate Development and Investor Relations Manager at Macarthur Coal. Originally trained as a geologist, Mr McAleese was involved in exploration and mine geology, including in base metals, in a variety of countries and companies before moving into the financial sector. 

Mark Terry - General Manager Business Development & Joint Company Secretary

Mr Terry is an accountant with more than fifteen years' experience in the mineral exploration and mining industry. He previously held a series of diverse senior finance positions with Normandy Mining Limited, Newmont and at Xstrata Zinc where he was Finance and Commercial Manager for Australian operations. He has broad experience in corporate treasury, mergers and acquisitions, resource project evaluation, accounting, tax and general management roles.

Patricia Williams - HR Manager

Ms Williams is a human resource professional with extensive experience in recruitment and generalist human resource practice.  Prior to joining Terramin, Ms WIlliams was a founding partner in a successful South Australian human resource consultancy which specialised in organisational structure and development, performance management and recruitment.  She was responsible for managing large client selection and recruitment campaigns for major projects as well as undertaking the role of Corporate Services Manager for the business.  Ms Williams is a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute.

Stephane Gauducheau - Legal Counsel

Mr. Gauducheau is a lawyer with experience in commercial, corporate and financing transactions. Whilst in private practice Mr. Gauducheau advised mining and oil and gas companies on projects and transactions in Australia, Europe, North and West Africa and the Middle East. Mr. Gauducheau is admitted to legal practice in South Australia and in France.

Angas Operations

Robert Howie - Mine General Manager

Mr Howie has an engineering and management career spanning 20 years, earning him a diverse background across hard rock mining, underground and open cut, within Australia and Europe.  Formerly the project manager for Downer EDI Mining's Goonyella operation of the BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA), Mr Howie lead successful site projects with a focus on safety, operations and maintenance performance and local community involvement.  Mr Howie has international experience as the General Manager of the one million tonne per annum Chelopech underground copper-gold mine in Bulgaria in Eastern Europe as well as working on some of Australia's largest mining operations including the Century lead zinc mine, BHP's Queensland Nickel and Olympic Dam operations.

Andrew Carruthers - Manager Maintainance and Supply

Mr Carruthers has more than 35 years' mining-related maintenance and supply experience, primarily in Broken Hill. He has held senior positions within Australia, Canada and Africa in the base metals, uranium and the gold mining industries. He has owned and operated his own maintenance and supply company and has completed major consulting and management projects both nationally and internationally. His most recent position before joining Terramin was with Allstate Exploration in Beaconsfield, Tasmania.

Algeria Operations

John Burgess - General Manager, Tala Hamza Project

Mr Burgess is a process and environmental engineer with 35 years' experience in zinc plants, mostly at Broken Hill. He consulted to Zinifex Limited on the Century Mine and on various nickel and gold operations and has held positions as manager of Metallurgy and Environment at Broken Hill and General Manager of the Renison Tin Mine. He has extensive experience in commissioning nickel, copper and gold plants and most recently he managed the successful commissioning of the Angas Zinc Mine.

Jean-Pierre Wilhelm - Vice-President North Africa

Mr Wilhelm manages operational support and business development for Terramin in North Africa. He has degrees in banking, logistics and management and a career spanning finance, the military, logistics and metal refineries. Over the past 10 years he managed logistics for a number of projects in Eastern Europe and the former Yugoslavia. He directed the re-commissioning of nickel and ferro-silica smelters in Eastern Europe and Macedonia and in the process developed a strong foundation for liaising with governments at high level. Mr Wilhelm has an MBA and an MSc in corporate management and logistics.

Geology & Exploration

Robert Singer - Chief Geologist

Mr Singer manages Terramin's resource development and exploration teams. He is a geologist with more than 30 years' experience in operating mines and exploration in diverse terrains. Previously he was Chief Geologist for the Newmont-Barrick ("Super Pit") operations at Kalgoorlie, mining 13 Mtpa of gold ore and also leader of the team responsible for a major expansion of zinc resources at the 1.2Mtpa Golden Grove mine. His career commenced at the CSA mine at Cobar, NSW and has included 19 years as chief geologist or exploration manager on a number of copper/lead/zinc, copper/gold, and gold operations. He is a competent person for the JORC Code estimation of base and precious metal resources.

Charlotte Hy - Principal Geologist, Oued Amizour Project

Dr Hy is a structural and metamorphic specialist trained in Paris. She has consulted in exploration and mining projects for precious and base metals in Australia and overseas. Projects in exploration have involved large-scale compilations of geophysical data (satellite imagery, airborne geophysics), geological information and extensive field work and she has conducted structural modelling of underground and open pit ore bodies for the mining industry. She is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.

Ken Cross - Principal Geologist, Fleurieu Region

Dr Cross has 30 years experience in the minerals industry, working with prospectors and junior exploration companies prior to joining WMC Resources Limited in 1984 as a mine geologist at Kambalda nickel mine, Western Australia. From 1986-93 he worked at Olympic Dam as Senior Research Geologist and later with WMC Resources Exploration Division as Senior Exploration Geologist (SA/NT), focused on Olympic Dam style Cu-Au exploration. Dr. Cross has a strong background in geoscience computing and technology and has worked extensively in Australia and overseas consulting to companies including BHP Billiton, Anglogold, WMC Resources Limited and junior explorers.
