Management Team

Terramin has an experienced management team, supported by multilingual technical and support staff, well equipped to conduct feasibility studies on advanced projects and carry out mining operations in Australia and worldwide. The Company relies upon its strong team of technical and commercial experts with extensive experience of many mining projects.

Nic Clift - Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer

Nic has over 30 years of international experience in the mining and base metals extraction, refining, and recycling industries. He has worked in a variety of corporate, management, project, development, and operating roles, and has extensive experience of dealing with Government and Local Administration. More than a third of his career has been spent in Africa; most recently he ran Kamoto Operating Limited in the DRC, and prior to that CBG in Guinea. He is a graduate of the University of Manchester, holds an MBA from the University of Queensland, and is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (FAusIMM).

Sarah Thomas - Financial Controller

Sarah is an FCA with more than 10 years' international experience in financial management roles.  She started her career with Baker Tilly before moving into financial and professional services and subsequently the resources industry.  She has broad experience which includes the introduction of cost saving initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, financial modelling, financial reporting and management accounting.

Rebecca Jarrett - Business Capability Manager

Rebecca has more than 10 years' experience in systems and organisational capability gained from public and private sectors.  She led crisis response, change management and stakeholder engagement during her career in the British civil service.  More recently, her focus has been on systems implementation, HR and risk management in the international resources industry.  Rebecca has an MA in Interpreting and Translation from Heriot Watt University and Terramin is supporting her through an MBA programme at the University of South Australia.

Stephane Gauducheau - Legal Counsel & Company Secretary

Stephane is a lawyer with experience in commercial, corporate and financing transactions. Whilst in private practice Mr. Gauducheau advised mining and oil and gas companies on projects and transactions in Australia, Europe, North and West Africa and the Middle East. Stephane is admitted to legal practice in South Australia and in France.

Angas Operations

Joe Ranford - General Manager

Joe is a mining engineer with 19 years' experience in mining operations and project management roles in Australia and South Africa. Joe has extensive experience in underground and open cut mining methods across a number of commodities. He has strong experience in project commissioning and mine management, including environmental and safety compliance. Most recently, he was the General Manager of Australian Operations for Crocodile Gold Corporation.   

Andrew Harris - Mine Manager

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining Engineering) (Hons 1st Class) from the University of South Australia. He has experience across a variety of underground mining operations, from 3mtpa base metal caving operations to 700,000tpa narrow vein gold mining operations. Andrew holds a South Australian First Class Underground Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency and is a member of the AusIMM.

Rene van Oevelen - Mill Metallurgical Superintendent

Rene's career to date has focused on flotation plants, including a complex oxide/sulphide flotation plant in North Queensland and a large volume copper flotation plant in Cloncurry. Prior to joining the Angas management team, he held the positions of Continuous Improvement Manager and Metallurgy Superintendent at Newmont Mining Corporation's Granites Gold Mine. Rene's career highlights include the commissioning of water detoxification plants in Queensland and Northern Territory and plant upgrades to increase capacity and reduce operating costs, as well as diverse continuous improvement projects. He holds an Applied Science Degree in Metallurgy from the South Australian Institute of Technology.

Dan Nelson - Human Resources Superintendent

Dan has over 10 years' experience within Human Resources, primarily gained at BHP Billiton, where he was employed in HR roles across their WA Iron Ore and SA Uranium Operations. He has worked in the consulting, mining and manufacturing industries with extensive experience in the areas of recruitment & retention, employee & industrial relations and behavioural change management. Dan holds qualifications in Human Resource Management and Social Science.

Algeria Operations

John Burgess - General Manager, Tala Hamza Project

John is a process and environmental engineer with 35 years' experience in zinc plants, mostly at Broken Hill. He consulted to Zinifex Limited on the Century Mine and on various nickel and gold operations and has held positions as manager of Metallurgy and Environment at Broken Hill and General Manager of the Renison Tin Mine. He has extensive experience in commissioning nickel, copper and gold plants and most recently he managed the successful commissioning of the Angas Zinc Mine.

Geology & Exploration

Charlotte Hy - Principal Geologist, Oued Amizour Project

Charlotte is a structural and metamorphic specialist trained in Paris. She has consulted in exploration and mining projects for precious and base metals in Australia and overseas. Projects in exploration have involved large-scale compilations of geophysical data (satellite imagery, airborne geophysics), geological information and extensive field work and she has conducted structural modelling of underground and open pit ore bodies for the mining industry. She is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.

Ken Cross - Principal Geologist, Fleurieu Region

Ken has 30 years experience in the minerals industry, working with prospectors and junior exploration companies prior to joining WMC Resources Limited in 1984 as a mine geologist at Kambalda nickel mine, Western Australia. From 1986-93 he worked at Olympic Dam as Senior Research Geologist and later with WMC Resources Exploration Division as Senior Exploration Geologist (SA/NT), focused on Olympic Dam style Cu-Au exploration. Ken has a strong background in geoscience computing and technology and has worked extensively in Australia and overseas consulting to companies including BHP Billiton, Anglogold, WMC Resources Limited and junior explorers.
